Aani paatham | Nail footwear

Aani paatham (ஆணி பாதம்), also called nail footwear or nail padukas, is a wooden sandal set with a raised point under the sole. It is used in vratham and in vows undertaken as part of a prayer observance, where the difficulty of standing on it is the point of the practice.

About the material

Turned and finished by hand from solid wood, so grain, tone and small variations in the finish differ between pairs. Wood may darken slightly with use.
